Since August 2020 the Citroen DS Manufaktur is an exclusive partner of Chapron International and is thus the only manufacturer of the DS convertible worldwide under Chapron's licence. The "Henri Chapron Series 2" is a homage to the unique design of the Citroen DS Cabriolets by Henri Chapron.
As in the times of Henri Chapron, the customer has the free choice of year of construction, model and colour scheme of his future vehicle. Exclusivity is guaranteed by a unique production number, a Chapron certificate and registration in the original Chapron register.
More than 40 years of experience in car body construction stand out. When Roman Matheja founded his Karls Autowerkstatt, the master coachbuilder dedicated himself to classic cars from the very beginning. In the meantime, hundreds of vehicles have been restored and preserved for posterity. During the last 25 years his passion has been especially focused on the Citroën DS models. He loves this Citroën series with all its beauty in its form.
This passion for the D-Models is put with the Citroen DS manufacture into the restoration and his conversions. Again and again he improves his know-how to offer his customers not only a restoration, but a vehicle that is similar to a new car in terms of technology, rust protection, comfort and luxury. In this way cars are created that are better than the original and that win prizes at classic car shows all over the world.
Our passion is to preserve and refine the unique design of André Citroën and Flaminio Bertoni. In addition to comprehensive technical know-how, style is also important when using modern materials. Many small improvements have been developed by us over the past years. They lead to an increase of durability for everyday use without distorting the design or character.
